The Gospel writers probably used sources in order to write their Gospels, otherwise they chance forgetting stuff. These sources could have been written, oral, divinely-inspired and their own memory. Mark seems to be the first Gospel written since almost all of it is incorporated into the other two Gospels. While Matthew and Luke have quite a few similarities, they also have huge chunks that are totally unique to themselves. So the question is where they got those 250 verses that they have in common? One of the proposed answers is Q.

Ever wondered why Bible’s are printed with two columns per page? Of course you haven’t but I came across it at the ESV Blog.
Double columns substantially reduce the space required for poetry because many lines of poetry fit on a single, shorter line; a single-column typesetting means a lot of empty space on a page filled with poetry. Poetry comprises about 25% of the Bible, so you can imagine the amount of space saved with two columns.

In a very similar way Christians are spies. Their main goal is to glorify God and fulfill the Great Commission, yet this is to be done under the title of accountant, consultant or teacher. Even Jesus led a double life here on earth, but was it as a carpenter?

At an elementary school here in Dallas, an eight year old submitted the following for a writing assignment. It is entitled “Thanks from Jesus” and you may have to decide where you think punctuation is required. I love the matter-of-fact writing, especially in the first sentence. My question is what do you do when you’ve hit rock bottom at only eight years old?
