So why was it that Jesus tried to keep His identity a secret? We can preface this by saying that Jesus became more willing to publicly identify Himself as Messiah later in His ministry. Also remember that those He heals and commands not to speak of His identity, disregard it and tell others about Him anyways like the former leper in Mark 1:40-45.

Most seminaries are now offering layman’s classes. These are classes offered to those not wanting or having time for the degree, but who want the education. I recommend you check out your local seminary to see what they offer. The classes are usually survey classes costing around $50 not including the books and they’re held once or twice a week.
If you fear the sunlight and the possibility of social interaction, you might be interested in Gordon-Conwell’s new offer. They are offering a free online layman’s seminary called Dimensions of the Faith.

Everyone loves secret societies. In the third grade, my friends and I started our own secret club. I was number three in charge.
The Freemasons seem to be the most talked about secret society, yet its hard to find someone who knows a lot about them. Dr. Al Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said that he believes that masonry is incompatible with Christianity. The Apostle Paul is the central figure in the New Testament (not including Christ). There have even been some that suggest that Paul was more responsible for the expansion of Christianity than Jesus (though there is no Christianity to spread without Christ).
